Martian Man Hunter

Here's the next sketch image from my Justice League Big 7 Redesign deviation:


Notes: I had fun with J'onn J'onnz design since his being a shape shifting Martian gave me a lot of leeway with his anatomy. The key changes I applied where to widen the shoulders and lengthen the arms - my aim here was to give him a silhouette that's more distinguishable from Superman's. My studio partner commented that I retained the X straps on his torso despite it being a long-time pet peeve of Wizard magazine writers. While I agree that the aesthetic is a remnant from a time when barbarian X straps were still cool, I feel that it's just as indispensable to Martian Man Hunter as the S-Shield and Bat Insignia are to Superman and Batman.

Will do a render pass on these sketches when time allows and the mood hits me. In the meantime, hope you all like.
